The Sydney Opera House primiarily designed by Jorn Utzon was completed in 1973. It lies at the end of Bennelong Point in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The building is generalised as a experssionist architecture which is consists of a concrete frame & precast concrete ribbed roof. The Opera House being over 45 years old is still a modern building in most people opinions. This was due to the building being way ahead of its times when it was built.
The Sydney Football Stadium more commonly known as Aussie Stadium was finiished in 1988 and is a modern building utilising steelexo-trusses. I chose this building as it has held several key events varying from musical performances to sports finals. I find this building interesting alongside the Opera House as they are both realitively old however are quite modern and fit in with the current times. I have visited this building many times notably during the Sydney 2000 Olympic games which was a highlight of my life so far.
The Sydney Harbour Bridgewas designed by Dorman Long and Co. Ltd Middlebrough and was finished in 1932. The bridge has the nickname the coat hanger due to its arch based design.
